On similar track, i know you can extract voice memo files and pictures from the P800 backup file on a PC, does anyone have an idea if you can extract the SMS texts in the same manner

I have bought Sms manager some month ago (i need more than 3 folders) but the 1 problem of this software is the conversion tool.
Yes you can convert the database to an xml (not standard) file.
But the tool is built in the phone application.
So exporting up to 1000 sms (as i do the first time, now no more than 500) kept the phone busy for 20 minutes.
Just need an external (win) application so we can convert the .bk file to an xml in few seconds. (the back-up procedure takes a second also for thousands of messages, it's a "copy" command).

I know there is also an oxygen phone manager for symbian phones but I don't really know the details. I assume it will back up sms just like it does for the nokia phones

Basically, it's a Windows app, which accesses the SMS on your phone when it's in the cradle (by the guys who did RemoteP800).
