Trouble is my 14 day returns/cancellation expired on Wednesday just gone, so would I be within my rights to cancel it anyway if one of their so called hiss free phones from the new batch still hisses, or if it hasn't had the hardware changes and they have only made software changes.
Nope, not at all - you can only replace with a new one within 28days of signing a contract, and after that repair (they'll take it off your hands and send it off, etc). If you repair several times and still doesn't work, they may offer you an alternative handset etc. But as far as rights go, you can no longer cancel the contract - they may allow you to out of goodwill, but don't expect it.

So only the phones with the software fix have the reduced poly tones??
Do the new "hiss-free" handsets, or those with a hardware repair also suffer from the reduced tones?
Sounds awful... I wonder what Orange are doing with their stock at the moment?
