So actually there is not a big deal with the screen right?
I would rather have a longer battery life than a freaking screen under the sun

Don't get me wrong, TFT screens are much clearer, have a wider viewing angle, and are much better in strong sunlight .... but I'd rather have the batery life to be honest. But then I live in the UK... it doesn't get as sunny here as it does in some other places

@MKT:
don't think that will work, you got to do all the recording in door in order to see the screen, and use the function outdoor where all the bg noises are...

my 3650's screen is MUCH easier to see in the sun than my t68i's was. but the backgrounds on most of my apps and menu is white, so it makes the others stand out more. perhaps change the theme to something really white when you are outside and it should help.

The new Smartphones, Qtek 7070 and Orange SPV uses transflective screens, the same as in the Ipaq 5450. Why not using that (Sony's) technology in other platforms (Nokia, SE) as well. I haven't bought a colour one yet because of battery time and bad outdoor visibility. If the phones main purpose, making calls, is worse because of colour screens, then the technology shift can wait.

There is one easy solution that works on the T68 and T300, and probably also with the T610. Just turn the screen directly towards the bright light (the sun in this case), and the screen is very visible even in strong sun light.
