Hi
Well mine is W19 and R2E and there is no hiss at all.
The sound is nice and clear, ringtones are still loud and the other person on the phone sounds just as loud as they did on my old W17 hissy phone.
I'm as happy as a pig in mud now.
Also, when I changed the phone this morning they left the back to my old one in the box for my new one so I got me a spare backplate as well.

Most 03W21 (or newer) R3A phones are fault free.
All 03W23 R3A phones are fault free.
Since I've returned two already, I'm going to be cautious this time and wait until I can buy a week 23 phone.

I finally bought a w19 2A version today and it does hiss, but i'm going to use it for a couple of weeks until the newer versions are more readily available in the shops then take mine back and exchange it

I haven't seen anybody say this so just to confirm...
I called SE UK support and Celestica yesterday and both confirmed a 24 hour turnaround for fixing the hiss problem.
I'll probably wait until I have my second (blue) T610 before bothering though as its not that big a deal.

sorry but that sounds a bit dodgy, that is a very early model (haven't heard of anyone complaing with a handset that early tough so it might be okay). The one i got yesterday was a 03w19

Got my 4th T610 from CPW. It is R2A 03W19 and it hisses and they are collecting it tomorrow. Nothing new there. They had approx 220 in direct sales and 18 at their warehouse last I saw. They reckon by late next week at the latest they will have a new batch. I guess these will be R3A at least, w number is anyone's guess. Their stock is sim-free so worth a shout!!!

I got my phone from CPW on tuesday, its a R2A W19, and it hisses, i know its already been mentioned. I contact tech support of CPW on the net, and they said that i need to contact SE themselves if i want it swapping!?!?!
might pop into a CPW on saturday and see what stock they have..

mine's R1A081 (it's the firmware version rite?) and it's a 03W20 model... i believe it does hiss a bit but not so bad... any comments on if it should be replaced?
