Hi Guys

Thanks for the info on updating firmware on the P800.

I have to go into the City (melb) toomoorow - lets hope I can get it done while I wait?

Should it be done for free?

Also where in Melbounre can I get 128Meg Duo and how much?
I can only find 64Meg Duo for A$149.

One more thing ..

My son was playing with the P800 and has entered the phone lock code but doesnt know what it is!!

Anyway around this - as I would like to use the lock function..
I cant do a "Master reste" as this needs th elock code to do it!

Will a firmware update fix this?

Tks

I got caught with the phone lock thing..... if you go into the control panel screen (while I was playing it is easy to enable the lock without entering any number. In this case the default lock code is 0000. Apparently *everyone* knows this..... but I didn't....

If that is not the problem, then you probably have to get SE to fix it.

Tks Kryton,

Lock code was 0000 - why didnt I try that! Tks

Also updated to R2F today in at Spencer St (they did in in 2 hrs for me)

Now my GPRS connection dosent work? I get the following message when trying to connect via browser "activation rejected"

Also all the Optus yes-info wap stuff has gone?

Looks like Optus must load stuff into the P800's they sell before they ship them?

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Tks

As I said I bought my p800 from sony, and I set it up with the configurator tool on the SE web site. It sends a mms thinky to the phone which sets all the necessary bits (other than cell info, as discussed above)....

Either go to the SE site and find the WAP/GRPS/MMS configurator or ring Optus and get them to send the stuff to you. It will come in the form of an "Auto Setup" message. (The last on the list of messages before Beamed). The good thing about this is that the P800 actually keeps the message in that folder after installing the settings so that if you mess around with them later, you just run the Auto Setup again.

And on a side note, another example of stupid call centre operators, I rang Telstra and asked for all the settings, (for some reason the SE settings for GPRS for Telstra were wrong i think) and they said it would take 24 hours. 2 days later, no settings, so I rang them again and got a different operator who send them to me while I was on the call with him! Call centres really annoy me!

After I got the firmware upgraded (see earlier post above) in Melbourne I had to get all my GPRS settings done again. Rang Optus and they did it "live" on the phone - took about an hour though to make sure it all worked. Optus tech people pretty patient, and very helpful. Successfully downloaded a few MMS movie trailers from yesOptus as part of my free access but still can't open or view them - real mystery.Phone goin' better than ever otherwise

Not sure what that Video 99 plan is - I'm just on a basic $22 per month plan which started with the P800, but you get up to 2 months free GPRS and yesOptus stuff, which includes the movie trailers.
