i'm sorry if i sounded rude. maybe my mistake that i glanced too fast in your answer. i was refering to the first question asked about the initial charge too. what i wanted to say was, even if the recommended charging time is 4 hrs, or what was mentioned in the manual. the feature in optimised charging which i believe will stop the charging process once the battery is fully charged. my previous T28 has this feature too. its no worry on overcharging. the maunal also mentioned in page 86, "A new battery or one that has not been used for a long time could have reduced capacity the first few times it is used". so what i can interpret here is that the first charging process of a new battery is also a normal charge be it that it will take 4 hrs to fully charge.

'Optimised charging' is basically just a buzzword for SE - it doesn't really do anything special that other mobile phones' chargers don't.
For the first charge you should leave the phone on charge for a couple of hours after the phone says charging is complete because not all the cells will be fully charged yet. The extra couple of hours on trickle charge will ensure that all the cells become fully charged.
It's basically what the manual says - first charge should be 4 hours minimum. The phone will report that it is fully charged after about 2 since the battery circuitry won't yet be calibrated properly. Keep on going so that the cells are all fully initialised. You can still play with your phone while its charging and it won't have any adverse effect on charging performance - that is supposedly what 'optimised charging' is meant to mean anyway.

For initial charge, 4 hrs is enough .. subsequently, I leave the phone on the charger to 'top up' as and when required.

The battery will start to discharge itself over time as the phone is still 'ON' but it's odd that your battery lasts for only 1-2 days. Maybe you should get your battery checked ...

I agreed with dal_l. The battery for T610 shouldn't last for 1-2 days. I tested mine, it last for 3-4 days at the begining and after several weeks of discharging (use till it off by itself) and recharge again, it gives me about 6-7 days. Again, it depends on the usage of the phone respectively.

my battery is like that too. I'm having my battery checked by the store now while upgrading to R1L FW.
When we first got the battery, there was some life in it. Were we supposed to drain it first before initial charge, or just do the initial charge straight away ?

R.E. the talk/standby time remaining details: This feature is definetely stated on the SE web site for T610 so I'm wondering if it's either a bug in the firmware that stops it being displayed or if they fitted them with a battery that doesn't support this 'intelligent' information? I understand that if you fit a 3rd party battery into older phones that show charge details, they will no longer display the information.

a little off subject here but i just noticed that if you press the + - buttons (eather will do) while the phonee is locked,the screen and buttons light up showing the clock and just the clock! i dont have a watch so this 'feature' is great! a nice big fat ass clock in my hand, another fantastic function that was missing from the t68i
