yes, when you press the joystick in to finish the text part of the message you are prompted for the number (to send to) and the left menu button has the label "lookup". You can just press the joystick to select that. You then get four options.
Phonebook
Groups
Sim Entries
Unsaved numbers
so pressing the joystick again will enter the phonebook.

Why haven't the done:
'Yes' after composing takes you to 'lookup screen'. you can then press left to give you fous options: number, groups, SIM entries and unsaved nos.
That would be so much better.

I think it works well... I type the text of my message and then press joystick in three times to get into the phonebook.
I'm not sure they could have made it much simpler

Well I spoke to a sony rep a week back and she confirmed that there definately will be a firmaware upgrade re the zoom function! - forgot to ask her about the shutter delay problem.....
guess i should make another call, not today, im off work feeling sick and am downloading music off kazaaa..... he he!
ill get back to you guys on that one, unless of course someone else gets there first!
