a T610 that comes branded from factory (in some cases ordinary T610 can have been branded afterwards) can't be flashed with the normal firmware at a servicepoint, they can only flash it with the Live firmware.

I have repeatedly mentioned in various threads that I bought a "Live" T610 and I have had it flashed with regular firmware at an OFFICIAL SE Service Center in Greece. Nearly all of the LIVE bullshit is gone. Only thing that remains is that the two top left icons still bring you to the Voda pages initially...but then again on the regular T610 they bring you to SE pages. Most important is that my right softkey is no longer a shortcut to LIVE menus. And now that I have succesfully scratched the Voda logos off with the use of a credit card, I am extremeyl happy!

Is it possible to buy a T610 in its original state? does anyone know what the round button on the RH side of the phone is suposed to do rather than what Voda have made it do?
What is the likley hood of damaging a T610 by flashing it to clear the Voda rubbish? Does this flashing business restore the phone to factory settings?
Sorry to ask what must sem silly questions to most of you but I am rather new to all this!
ps is the a SE service centre in London or do I have to go via Vodacrime?

Is this true?? If so, im worried because I'm about to get my phone changed (I missed the 14 day deadline by ONE DAY so now im stuck with Vodafone. I dont even like the colour red!!) and then get it flashed to the non-Voda version (courtesy of mobile exchange). As i am not opening up the phone, surely this wont void my warranty? also, they're not going to check if i ever have a problem, will they, i haven't had a problem with my T68 ever, so im hoping i wont have to.

I did try to have my Voda flashed at an official SE SP in France last friday.
First, I have to say that, even if the guy was nice, he was not necessarily "in da know" regarding voda issues.
So, we tried flashing with the regular software: didn't work...
The guy checked on SE maintenance site, and downloaded a few other versions, telling me that the upgrade tool would try to find one that could fit my phone.
It actually did find... the Voda software...
So one flash for nothing.
I agree with Haki: SE must have released the Voda software, so that Voda phones can only be flashed with it (at least at official SE SP).
I will have to try the unofficial way, then
