The saturn was actually ok, but released WAY too late, the virtua series and all that Jazz.

It was billed as being the same (effectively) as the PS1, but it was technically inferior. Still had some good games on it though, but no way as many as the PS. That inferiority, coupled with the Dire marketing led to its demise... as did the 32X, which was just clutching at straws, really (I liked the MegaCD tho)

Then you turn to the Jaguar...

Oops Atari...

Another example would be mac vs microsoft based pc

BTW, I'm with XBox over PS2 (latter in attic)- just look at halo and try and find something as good on other platforms

i wish i could see in to the future, and not only for the lotto numbers or the new lines of phones. but also to see the PSX/PS3/X-box2/gamecube2/red jade/gameboy advace SP2. gameing consoles are in these days, thats why nokia is taking a shot at it. i don't believe the N-gage will sell, cause of the limited and to be high costlike games. the 3300 is a wanebee device in my eyes. never seen it but i know i guy on esato who just bought it. damm punk, he was gone go for the T610 but no, some sales guy talked him over, nokia loves grrr don't like them (and they don't like me)!

Ok, when i hadn't played Halo, I thought it was the Don, but then, after a couple weeks playing it, It got very... very... boring.

But thats not the point, i guess it's mostly matter of opinion, Playstation caters for a slightly different gamer. just like Nintendo do (they aim at kids, i feel, look at mario - I know someone will disagree)

I also dont like how things look on the XBOX and how the actual thing looks, i don't think thats just me.

Not gonna go over the T610 vs 7250 row- i take it that the SE is the victor. Im gona try that.

My upgrade is due next week. My T68i has had a lot of problems since last month after having dropped it on a London Underground escalator (and yes... it went right to the bottom). Gave it to CPW oxford st, and got it back unrepaired saying 'its beyond economical repair'. I guess it means it's not worth getting it repaired. Meanwhile i've been using a samsumg a300-what a pain! Its when you use these minors when you truly appreciate how good the T68i really is. BTW- i'm getting a T610. This a300 misery has really put me off v200 and whilst 7250 is good- it doesnt look as slick as the SE. (also looked at siemens but their menus give me headaches)

every console has its good and negative points, the only thing to make the right choise, is to be rich and buy them all. but i don't think most of us on esato are that rich, to bad. rich sponser for esato and are always welcome

@bart - RedJade?

i saw some concept pictures of PS3, looks incredible, but theyre coming to their limit, copper can only let electricity travel so fast, like computers, they're slowing down.

Also, consoles are becoming too much like computers. True, the addition of Internet and hard drives will 'enhance gaming experiences' as they keep saying (the mysterious 'they'), but the line between the two platforms is blurring.

I'm sure i had a point, but its gone...

All your examples are bad. Nokia, ps2 and sony all had many years more to establish themselves than the others. Se and Xbox are practically babies in comparison. This message was posted from a T300
