Sin Dat is a really risky place. A magazine once did an undercover story, revealed that a particular shop there intentionally introduced water on the circuit board, so that the phone would fail a week or so after. When shops switch batteries, they give you fake ones.
But anyway... MTR Mongkok Station, on Argyle St. east of Nathan Rd. on the north side. Good luck.
P.S. Fortress and Broadway sell official imports with full warranty.

I can't recommend a specific shop because they are all so similar, yet have different/ambiguous names. Just go out of Mong Kok MTR exit E2, and shop around all those hundreds of electronics shops. Head upwards past that 'market' and you get to the Mong Kok Computer Centre. There are many more of these electonic shops up there too.

damn i have this dilema, i know that in fortress and broadway i get waranty, but it is usless to me coz i go back to poland from HK and back there they wouldn't accept those HK waranties.
and now those private shops most of u say that they might "fall apart"
but i think i can save some money maybe couple hundreds. damn i dont know what to do>?
where should i buy it ?plz help:???:

Find a reliable place for parallel imports, and they are not in the Sin Dat Mall.
For IR and other computer peripherals, you can't beat Golden Computer near Shamshuipo MTR. Sign posted in the station. Actually this site lists the 5 most famous ones, Windsor the most expensive and professional, then Wanchai. Golden the cheapest.

I don't believe a phone will fall apart if you buy it from these private shops. I bought my T68 in Mong Kok in January 2002 from one of these small electronic shops and haven't had any problem with it. I do believe you still get 1 year Manufacturers warranty wherever you buy the phone. With manufacturers warranties you should get help from anywhere in the world, no? Otherwise you can post the phone to SE in HK?

I can't believe someone from HK could be so unfamiliar with the electronics retail market there. If you buy from an unauthorized dealer i.e. many (but not all) private shops, you do NOT get a manufacturer's warranty. What you get is a store warranty(if at all). So if the store is gone the next month, you don't have any warranty whatsoever. Moreover, these store warranty are often crippled, like 1 year parts, 3 months labour. Of course you can't get your phone serviced by SE in HK, even if it malfunctions 2 hours later.
Furthermore, SonyEricsson phones do NOT carry international warranty unless they are bought in the EU, in which case the warranty is valid anywhere in the EU only. Anywhere else, the warranty is local only. Please read your warranty documentation before posting incorrect information.
When you buy from these small shops, do yourself a favour and comapre the serial numbers on the unit and the box, at the very least.

Shenzhen is like China....(not that HK is not) but that's a whole new ball game over there.
Anyway I know Mong Kok dealers can be a bit dodgy. BUt I have gotten all my fones in HK and had no problems with them. (Bringing them back to Aus to use)
I use it like any others dropped it couple of times as you do.
But no fault with it.........also you get good trade in prices in HK....
Since you are taking it back to Poland so why bother with the warranty just get the water goods ones.
Just make sure you check the fone. I say 7/10 shops there are legit.
Look around and see for yourself.
