@janahan, Yes you can specify a different voicemail alert to sms alert on RB1 but not in the standard menus, you swop the file as explained above, i say this on the basis that its what i have done,
In fact ALL the sounds on the p800 can be specified & changed. as can the startup/shutdown movies & sound.

Nope. No luck what-so-ever. Been sitting here at work, trying all afternoon to get my voice mail alert tone to sound the same as my SMS alert tone. People here now think Im weird cuz Ive been voice mailing myself all afternoon, so that I can hear if the tone has changed - which it hasn't! Im still getting the default tone, rather than my personal SMS alert tone.
Now, not only have I given up, but my colleagues are contemplating putting me in some kinda mental institute. What a bugger!!!

On Orange UK, When you recieve an answerphone message Orange answerphone services send a SMS SIM alert (similar to a sim update) to your phone wich diplays the answerphone symbol on your screen (Notice you get a blank sms on your sim in messages menu) this tells you to ring answerphone, deleting or saving the voice message turns off the symbol.
If your viocemail alert is different to your sms alert no amount of fidling with sms alert will effect the voicmail sound as they are seperate files.
