Update,

I have fixed the brightness on the dolby, DTS and THX startups and have also added 3 new videos.

New startups are Looney Toons, MGM Lion and The Ring Cursed Video.

Enjoy Guys

@peeps1980

would is be possible to edit the existing ones (SE's logo) and just remove the sound?

right now I just set my phone to silent before turning it off in places where I wouldn't want to disturb anybody... I really couldn't care less about the sound.. in fact.. I would like to remove the startup and shutdown movies all together and have just a blank screen.. is that possible?

I have just tried to edit an existing mp4 and I can't even open it in mpegable or virtualdub so at this moment in time I would say its not possible to remove the audio from the se ones.

If you want to remove the startup and shutdowns altogether then you could create a black or white bitmap at 320x240 and following my guide for startups at http://www.ihardcastle.free-online.co.uk you could load this in instead of a video file. When you convert it to mp4 it will just be a blank video with no sound.

I will try a knock summet together and let you know when its done.

peeps,

could you plz put a note or something to mark the video that you have updated/polished on your site.

i have to download (the same vids) a couple of times in order to get the latest UPDATED vids.

regards.

I put a marker on the site last night i'm not sure if you have seen it. If the download row is all bold then its new or updated.

I haven't released any updates since the dolby ones at the weekend. Theses are the only updates I have done, all the rest have stayed the same.

I am only planning on adding new ones from now on unless I feel they need tweakin.

I hope this has cleared up the confusion.

I am sorry if it has caused you problems. It may be that you downloaded a video as I was uploading the new one, I don't know.

But like I said, all the videos up now are final releases. Unless stated on the website.

Later.

hiya guys...

i am having trouble setting up the start-up vids on my fone..i must be doing something wrong or being totally thick about it but i hope you guys will humour me abit...

i have followed the instructions as per hardcastle's web site and set up a new sysdata folder and copied those files to that folder. i then switched off the phone and back on again and still the same SE start-up screen. when i try opening the video file in file manager, i get a error message 'video dimension too large'!

am i doing something wrong or missing something???

hope you guys can help as i'm totally confused now.

Make sure
1) the folder created is sysdata ( Not system and then data )
2) the folder is on c: drive (Not d: memorystick duo)
that is copy startup.mp4 shutdown.mp4 and popcorn.wav to c:\sysdata

That should work.
