I notice the flickering while charging is in sync with the battery animation. So maybe it's not related to the CPU but to the GFX chip instead, this would explain the higher amount of flicker with the camera view and Mophun games.
Either it's interrupting the strobe of the backlight or it's draining power from it.

I think I figured it out then, it's probably a display refresh related problem. That's why it flickers more during camera view and mophun games. It flickers at the pace of the cursor flash when entering text. And when you move the selection in the menus.
It could also be that most of the hardware is sleeping until such a display update, the hardware wakes up to do the update and drains power from the backlight or interrupts it's strobe. Still something a proper design would avoid.

I just made a call and studied the screen. Once again, flicker is so faint that I had to look for it before I saw it. It doesn't look like it's the backlight. Probably just video refresh.

I've just gone throug all options mentioned above and can't see any flickering on my screen at all. Maybe I'm getting old and my eyes are tired but I don't see it. Sw R1A.

Yup the flickering is rather small as compared to my colleague's Nokia 7210. Anyway to me I find that its still acceptable, and now I'm enjoying this good phone now.
