maybe these rumours are started by people from within SE to guage interest in their new handset ideas, kinda like market research?
For example Mr X in SE design department wonders how a new clamshell model would be recieved by the SE user community so he drops a little rumour onto the forum and sees what people think! If the idea is well recieved then it may go further, if not then its back to the drawing board!

Whatcracks me up is when self declared \"people in the know\" tell us a future \"FACT\" but then ad a \"get out clause\" by saying. \"i may be wrong\" or \"i think\" or \"someone told me, so it should be true\". when someone claims to be giving inside information, i do a search on their posts & i find that gives me a VERY good idea of their credibillity :wink: .
