1) Well I always hated Ericsson styling and that put me off fro mthe start. Around October 2001 I started seeing stuff on mobile phone sites about the T65, including the online demo but just when I convinced myself to get one I started reading about a fabulous new colour phone with everything I wanted.
2) T68!

HATED TDMA and after going to back to europe, and getting jealous with all my friends on GSM switiching SIM cards and sending SMSs, i knew i HAD to get GSM. what better phone than a t39m. fell in love with it from first sight.
researched the F@CK out of it, and decided to get it. got it for $200USD shipped to me, exactly this time last year, so it was a damn good deal. it was the best phone in the world. loved it more and more.

but then the t68i tempted me, i picked one up in march from a best buy store for only $100 by cheating them (got AT&T phone, said it was present for friend, saleman beleived me, sold it, got it unlocked).

so to make a profit, i sold my t39 and it was the worst decision EVER!!! i miss it so much! i sold the t68i for a 3650 (love it) but my t39 was so stylish, and sexy, and sleek. oh how i miss it.

Q1: The T68 was the first "WOW" phone I had ever seen on the internet. Before that I hated Ericsson, with the bad user interface (like the GF768.

Q2: So I waited until I bought the first (and only) T68 model from a shop in Holland.

My first phone was Ercsson T18 then upgraded to Sony Z5 then T68i and now I'm using T610. I like Sony's brand and design and Ercsson's feature so Sony+Ercsson is a great idea.

GH388
I liked it because it was small, all nokia was ugly and the ericsson phones had a metal frame.

Edit

The nokia 1610 that all people I knew had when I got my 388 could only recive sms but not send. The GH388 could do both.

T610 2 weeks ago, after a series of Nokias

1 Prestige (beautiful, quality design - not plasticy 'hip' design like nokia), nice size, weight, metal panels, etc . The alternative would have been Nokia 8910i, but, well, can you say 'stone age', and 'How Much ???'.

2 Usability - having played with the thing for a few minutes, it looked like the there was a lot of scope for good usability. I assumed the menus were configurable, I must say. Oh well. Still, it's better than many.

3 GPRS, bluetooth, and java - I want to develop java apps, preferably network ones using GPRS, and I want to talk to my PC, PDA, etc without looking stupid trying to juggle on the train pointing IR devices at each other. Nokia are screwing themselves by ignoring bluetooth. As it turns out, SE **REALLY** need to start using MIDP 2.0 - The push functionality is the killer feature for java phones - SMS will become obsolete when ICQ et al work properly - and future 'mobile ICQ' apps (eg location-aware) will likely be even more popular. Sandboxed games are, well, just playing around.

A long time ago, I bought the Ericsson GF768 with a Prepaid, and I liked it very much.

Then I bought the T28s, because I had a good feeling about (S)E.
After that I made a big mistake, I switched to the Nokia 3210 and after that the 3310.
But now, I`m total SE addicted:

T29m, T39m, T66 (Girlfriend), R600 (Spare), T600 (Girlfriend), P800 and now the T610.

Every friend of mine, has to buy a SE otherwise they`re not my friend anymore

So, for me it`s just a ?coinsedence?, a Ericsson was my first good experience phone. That`s also why I will stay at SE
