Hi

"However ive seen both the menus and I prefer the vodafone icons, theyre better and are more colourful."

This made me laugh.
I've just converted my T610 with the firmware from LogosUnlimited and now the menus are much more colourful and brighter than the Vodacrap menu icons.
I was a bit disappointed that it did not remove the animated screensaver from my pictures though.
This phone is superb now.

AFIK no the only customisations orange make to the handsets are to put an orange b/g pic a orange screensaver and an orange logo to the bottom of the handset or at least thats what was on my t68i. oh and the wap/gprs settings are actually un erasable apart from the 13 sec trick

How old are you? 11?

I didn't buy my t610 to show it to my friends. I bought it to have a great phone, with a lot of functions I need, and great looks. And did you know the Vodafone words on the outside can be erased with just one nail?

@davebem

Ok - I appreciate that everyone is entitled to an opinion but I really can't see how anyone could think that the Vodafone icons are more colourful than the standard SE ones because they quite clearly aren't - literally! The SE icons use the full 65k palette whereas the Voda Live! ones use the standard Voda Live! icons found in other phones in the Voda Live! range (barely any of which support 65k colours) and so they are limited to a far smaller palette of colours.

I owned a Voda Live! T610 for about a week when it first came out and I now have an Orange T610 which uses the standard SE icons (apart from the top left one) and they are far more understandable than the Voda Live! icons - you can actually see what the icon is supposed to be a pictograph of for a start!

There was a picture comparing the two menus in a thread ages ago but I'm afraid I can't remember which one it is. I expect a search of the forums may turn it up but there have been so many threads on similar subjects that I imagine it will take a while to find! If you can find it then you can see for yourselves.

Yes Orange used to get slated for customising phone firmware but that was usually from the point of view that it meant that handsets would typically take longer to be released on Orange. The firmware customisations Orange make are generally not too restrictive (besides the nework lock of course) and are usually actually unlocking features that are not normally switched on (line2 for example).

@striker_pt ~ The point we're trying to make is the Vodafone T610 is a crippled version of a wonderful phone. Not just cosmetic changes but also to the functionality of the phone. The menus that link to Live! *are* a big deal. ~Eva This message was posted from a P800
