Nope they didn't say AXE. That was MY guess this time. But SE said "probably network problem". They had never heard about this issue before.
Sorry for making a guess. I'll leave this thread alone now and wont waste anymore money calling SE to try to help.
Ok I am back... solved some issues. tbl got any clues to what this could be? Maybe the speaker is connected somehow to the mic so that when a beep arrives, it goes through the speaker to the mic so the person who is not suppose to hear it.. still hears it?

Thanks tbl and lord mike for your suggestions.
The scenario is exactly as in your example tbl (Quote: For example: I am on the phone to Lord Mike and my mum calls me I will hear a beep, and my mum will hear a beep or a message to say she is waiting
Lord Mike should hear nothing ).
What is happening in my case is that the other person on the phone is hearing an exact beep as I am hearing, very clearly and actually in many cases they doubted that it is a call for them, so it is possibly something you said like the P800 echoing back the sound. I contacted SE over phone and the lady on the phone didn’t know a thing about it, then I emailed the global support of SE and that lady told me that it is something to do with the network. Actually I am on the same network for a long time, “02” and I just changed the phone. In none of my previous phones this happened. About what lord mike said, I don’t know whether my mic is connected to the speaker somehow, how can I find it out Lord Mike? I even tried the handsfree and the problem is still there.Tbl, If it is like you said the P800 echoing back the sound then is there any solution?

couldn't you test this yourself by setting up a call to personB, muting the call (to turn off your mike), then arrange for another call from personC ... Given that mute will be on, if personB can hear the call-waiting tone, then it must be a switch/network issue. ... true?

The main problem here, is that both sides get the same beep.
So, both think the call-waiting is on their side...
I get this too. It's definitely a bug in the phone's software.

@ged
That seems a good idea to check the thing.I am going to try this. But I am sure it is not a network issue becuase I bought the P800 only three weeks back and I am on the same contract with the same network and I never had this problem before. Also none of my friends who are on the same network using different phones don't have the problem either.
@Oferlaor
Are you in UK and are you experiencing the same problem as me or a different one?
Any one else experiencing the same problem?

Anish,
I'm on O2 - UK and I have a P800 at R1D software.
I don't get this problem to the best of my knowledge, I'll have a play around though and let you know.
**Update**
Right, I've just checked it in my work (I have four desk phones on different systems) and I can see what Anish is talking about.
I can definitely say that this is feedback from the P800 earpeice into the microphone 100%. It is not a network beep being passed back.
I cannot see a way around this, the P800 has a very very sensitive mic on it, unless

can turn down the receive sensitivity I don't see this being resolved I'm afraid.

@tbl
So if we turn down the speaker volume does it help? Or is this happening internally?

Normally what happens is that any tone generated by the phone should automatically be removed by the phone's echo cancellation software. However, we know that this is a problem with the P800 due to the way that ringtones can activate voice commands.
In most phones, and certainly in a phone with handsfree support, all the necessary software to handle the suppression of any such tones is already installe,. so SE should be able to fix this sort of issue.
Now, the question is how we convince them to do that alongside all the other things they need to fix!

Nope, I've just turned the speaker right down low and it still seems to occur.
Leave it with me, I'll try it tonight with my Bluetooth headset and report back in the morning.
This is an intruiging one.
I also tried it with Vodafone and Orange SIMs to ensure it definitely wasn't a network issue.
