Baz, im still not 100%, but im getting better

i sure hope it will be as early as may that voda implement MMS. The other networks will soon follow thier lead, because they wont wanna be left behind. But in reality, it probably wont be as early as may, and will end up being in 5 years time

I think MMS will prove to be very popular, just as SMS currently is. I bet the people who will come up with the best ideas will be the kids (they seem to have enough money to pay for hundreds of SMS messages a week).

It's ironic that some companies feel MMS is only worthwhile in the top end products, which means the main market will not have MMS for a long time. Those that do have it will have few other people to communicate with.

It's like SMS all over - the networks and manufacturers can't see the market potential and stunt the growth as a result (then moan that it's not doing well).

If a company like Nokia or SE brought out a cheap pre-pay mobile with MMS and a digital camera add-on, I bet the kids would go mad for it - especially if you then sold a little box to print out pointless stickers!!!

EMS has already made picture messaging (and logos, ringtones etc.) available to everyone, not just Nokia. MMS is a major step forward as it brings multimedia. It doesn't require a top end colour phone though, so why exclude it from other phones in the range? I know it will -eventually- filter down but that's a bit shortsighted surely?

MMS is being rolled-out by network operators, so I guess for now it's only available to a few test users, like GPRS was at the beginning. Anyway, the transport technology is already existing (GPRS, CSD), and all they need is mainly a MMS gateway.

Anyway, where is the rush? There is not a single product widely available that does support MMS. Maybe it's possible to find a couple of T68i somewhere, but that's it. And it certainly isn't enough.

MMS will take off when the Nokia 3510 hits the market - its only a greyscale model, but it is MMS-compatible and will be on the market for around €200-250 - within the reach of most low-end users. Most people missed this announcement in the 7210 hype.

I don't really think it will be that popular, because of the price, the fact that no so many ppl have an MMS enabled phone and that it's too much of a hassle (15 seconds, having to know all of your friends' phones....)

If you send a MMS to one that doesn't have a MMS-phone, he/she will get a SMS that says that you have received a MMS. Then they can read the MMS on a WEB-site. Simple/cheap MMS-phones will be able to receive, but not send MMS-messages.

By the way, Roadrunner. I didn't know that it is possible to send MMS-messages in Hungary yet... Which SP is that?

So Laffen you've sent an MMS using the T68m, when was that upgraded?

How much did it cost you?

And did it live up to the hype?

@Linkinpark17UK

It was a demonstration done by one of the operators here in Norway. They had recevied a couple of T68m phones with MMS software for testing purposes. I didn't use my own phone.
