If it is new can't you take it back?

Your warrenty should cover it.

As for your PS2 DVD problem, the lens might need cleaning, get yourself a DVD lens cleaner.

I've got a lens cleaner and thats not the problem,the ps2 makes a grinding kinda noise which i demonstrated over the phone with Sony ps2 support,he said it sounded like a hardware problem which is £85 to fix or £65 to exchange for a new one:-( This message was posted from a T68i

Yes!

Well actually my windows media player series 9 plays dvd's now,i'm not getting send error reports anymore.
I dont know if the update fixed it or downloading some of these
