LoL@Mass, you seen pretty offended:-D I connected via gprs by the way, i just had to disable the tcp header compression. But i'm limited to o2.co.uk. It's all thanks to one post from you with the dial up number:-) cheers. I don't purpose There's a way of trialgoi out to the full web like on aol years ago? Just post in the T300 topic he there is. Back on topic, maplin has a usb irda adaptor for 20 quid right now, That's half price.

No not offended at all, and I can understand peoples thoughts against ebay but when a regular member answers a question with the possibility of probably the cheapest IR adaptor around and with experience with the seller then you'd think people would trust that. No problem if they prefer to spend more elsewhere.
Glad you got connected by GPRS if only limited.

Sorry I can't quote the thread here (I'll dig it out if you insist), but I read that IR is faster than BT 4kbps vs. 1kbps (does that sound about right?).... probably wrong tho', I usually am LOL

I have posted this before, but can't be bothered to search now.
The *theoretical* top speed for IR is 4mb available through high speed extensions, so basically:
Normal IR speed = 9.6kb -> 115.2kb
IR over high speed extensions speed = 1mb -> 4mb (both devices have to support it)
BlueTooth speed = 723kb -> 1.2mb (with compression)

I bought the same USB-Irda adaptor as Massuer and I am very happy with it, especially the USB extension lead thats made of stiff mesh covered wire that I have formed into a perfect shape over the back of my pc so it doesn't vibrate by sitting on the case.

all speeds set to maximym 115200bps but of no use .. my k500 takes ages to transfer large files
wat m i doing wrong ?? and wat speeds do u ppl get over infra ?
