Hey poOp,
I'm using a T610 and faced the same problem before.
Solved the problem myself by accessing the "Hidden Menu" within the phone. This menu allows you to adjust the overall contrast of the screen (it's different from the one in the normal desktop).

Most of you may already know this.
To access the Hidden Menu, just push the joystick in the following directions and push the * button...>*<<*<*

@EdgedSphere

Still it wont solve if you read my previous post
I tried changing contrast too, but you can't change brightness..

Don't confuse brightness with contrast..

hi thanks for that link to the other thread about the differences someone else also noticed.
I just want to add that
My sister's w27 has pinky-white leds for her number pad compared to my blue-ish white leds.

Zacay is right about contrast and brightness, they're two different things. The difference is in brightness, which there are no settings for. But....

I'm glad that it's not a case of hardware defect. I'm the type of guy who hates washed out colors, and optimize for black levels on my lcd monitor. I am also a bit against washed out colors (too bright). So I guess I'm pretty much over it! Thanks for the replies guys!
