@ Anuj
are u sure that opera is using ur wap not ur gprs connection?coz as far as know (check it with opera support ) it is IMPOSSIBLE to use a wap gateway with opera only fully http access.

Since upgrading to the new version of Opera I've also been able to use my wap account to access both Wap and HTML pages using Opera. Sometimes I do have to connect with my full GPRS connection first and then switch over to wap and it works.

Thanks to those who pointed this out - I'm now using Opera with the orangewap gateway to browse normal web pages. Since Opera also now has the fullscreen option, there's no reason to use the internal browser at all imo.
Also, I can now dump my GPRS package, saving me a fair bit each month

Thanks again!

WAP accounts are not regular GPRS accounts.
Each carrier can decide what will pass and what won't pass on the WAP account. Many have blocked internet access.
Some have it still open, which is why we occasionally get people reporting that their Opera can use their WAP account without any problems.
Even the WAP gateway has to be enabled for web browsing, or even the internal browser won't let you access the Internet.
I started out with the ability to get Opera running through WAP at around 50% of the cases (not all of the gateways for the local carrier enabled web access). I could use the internal brower with WAP to get to the net (useless as the internal browser sucks).
after a while, the carrier detected the problem and Opera could not be used anymore. After 2 weeks more, the internal browser couldn't contact the internet through the wap gateway anymore...

I've been using opera over wap for nearly a year now (on 02) without any problems whatsoever. The only downside is that it's slow but who cares as long as the call charges are free !
It works guys ...trust me !

Control Panel-Connections
WAP accounts--Choose your wap account, then
Preferred -->Use WAP account (check it)--->Choose your WAP account from the drop-down list.
Have u tried it out that way?
Hope that helps!
