ah ok, now i understand. i don't care too much about that, if i need to pay a bit that's not a problem (as long as it's not too expensive). i think i'll go on thursday, so i'll see then... anyhow, thanks a lot for all the info, it was a big help!

you don't have to pay to update it to the same language version.... but if you want another language version it doesn't count as a warranty update... so then it's up to the service point to decide if they want to put a charge on it or not...

you have a russian T9? (or just menus?) do you have russian letters on your keypad? i wonder if you can mix languages: english, french, german, russian... ?

ok, well just in case anyone is interested in the answers to the questions i asked here, i just got my phone updated at ericsson-israel to R2B. they were very nice and efficient, and updated my phone and my g/f's phone in about 20 minutes total, including changing the languages on the phone (in addition to english, i had chinese on mine--although it was a T68m, not a T68mc--and my g/f had indonesian i think), and they didn't charge me anything, so i'm very happy now
as arroyootje already told me yesterday (but for anyone else who might be interested), the language pack includes english, french, russian, hebrew, arabic and farsi. menus can be displayed in any of these languages, and text can be input (e.g. for SMS's) in any language except arabic or farsi, although the T9 only works for english and french...
on the whole, i must say i'm extremely pleased with my first experience with ericsson service...

yep, i found that too
very practical...
the only thing i find a little disappointing is the way the russian font looks. the latin characters are very nice, and so are the hebrew ones, but the russian ones are downright ugly

It's like a little kid's writing! Try the medium one... looks a bit retarded,but the Russian looks normal...

ah yes, i didn't think of that... i just normally leave it on the small font for the english (looks better and more practical for reading more on the screen), but i'll try it at a bigger font for the russian. thanks for the advice
