@ Sutarkoen
Do the vodafone cells not carry name data which minigps collects automatically?

Voda cells just have the 4 digits, you have to name them yourself. I'm going to call vodafone soon and enquire as to whether I can obtain datebase info.

I'm on Orange, and that doesn't carry name info either. You have to name the cells yourself. Which poses a problem because mine are all called "Inbetween Derby and Spondon", for example! But I'd be happy to post the .csv file if:
1) People think it would be any use, given that they've got my descriptions for the cells!
2) Someone knows how to import the .csv file, because I can't make it work for the life of me! I posted about it a couple of days ago but no-one has replied so I assume no-one knows how.
Cheers guys & gals.

I haven't been able to try out importing anything to it, as my phone has had to be returned to the supplier as it's bust, and they still haven't managed to get their finger our of their arse and sort it.

No dice importing the files for me either
I notice it's the same story with IRremote, but then that's another thread.
Cell name Area code Cell id
Birstall, Leicestershlre 0 0
Birstall, Leicestershire 0 27431
Birstall, Leicestershire 0 20633
Birstall, Leicestershire 0 32028
Birstall, Leicestershire 0 35773
Birstall, Leicestershire 0 35774
Birstall, Leicestershire 0 25463
Some mine has harvested this evening. Bit curious about the top one with no cell id - but it won't make any difference if we can't figure out how to import them....

Guys - just a word of warning about cells that you manage to name with no ID, or ID '0'.
I got a cell with an ID of '0' labelled as Long Eaton, Nottingham. Occassionally, miniGPS can detect a cell but never quite find it's ID number. In this situation, the ID remains as '0' until the ID is found. If the ID is never found you have a problem because the program displays the name of the cell in it's database with ID '0'. ie I was in North Wales and because miniGPS found a cell but couldn't get any ID information, it was trying to convince me I was in Nottingham!!
I've found that if you do name a cell with ID '0' there are two options:
1) Delete the cell info, but this leaves you open to the possibility of naming it again the next time it happens
2) Rename the cell to something like "Searching..." or "Getting ID info..." so that you know what's happening
Just thought it might help some people in the same situation as me...
