This makes me think that the T610 was designed this way so that we would all go out and buy their new models straight away hoping that these issues are fixed.
Good business I think.
Just my opinion though.
*ponders* I doubt it, if it would be their plan they have made a bad
choise since I think many ppl that are disapointed with a manufacturers model would not switch to a newer model but rather switch to some other manufacterers model.
I think this is what have happened Nokia
in sweden ppl got fed up with them not fixing their phones and releasing an i model instead and expecting ppl to buy that instead.
Prolly a helping reason that

now have replaced Nokia as the top
selling mobilephone manufacturer in sweden. (yepii

)
Anyway I agree

should make it more obvious if you missed calls
or gotten sms'es they really should use their leds more on T68i they
got 2leds to use and on T610 they got 1. It's prolly to late for T68i now
but I really hope they will update their software in T610 to use the led
more.

Possible Solution to Missed calls etc.....
The small unit fits to the bottom of the T610. It automatically switches the phone to handsfree mode, and when a call is received the Unit detects it and switches the appropriate LED to flash.
The unit is powered from the phone.
The socket also allows for data and power connections.
A desktop charger version is also available.
Maybe this will help ?
(It sounds like a simple detection circuit connected to the T610 connector)
Alternativly just keep the phone with you all the time ?

I totaly agree with you PAUL. I have the same problems on my T300. One thing that is annoying me is the fact that after a battery charge my phone becomes really slow. It takes like five minutes to get to the menu. This seems to be a problem with all the SE phones. In the newest one however. My sister hoot the same problem with her T310. The phones are good and better then NOKIA though of those little problems. But beside those problems I am totaly pleased with my T300.

T610 has a full address cool in the phonebook spaces for address email fax etc. What more do you need?

Paul, that's one of the best lists of SE gripes I have every seen. You really nailed it.
Regarding the address book Exodus: I think Paul means street address, city, zip code, country, etc. I agree they should include that.

I agree that having those details (e.g. street, zip etc.) are cool. But adding those info(new fields) may eat up more storage space.
I agree that the phone should noify the user of missed calls
or received SMS (and should be visible until the user becomes aware).

Yeah, I agree with the list of problems, but these arent particularly specific to the T610 - it's the same on all ericsson phones.
for instance, no ericsson phone allows you to have a polyphonic (or choice of) ringtone for the sms alert, and the address book has always been like that - never been quite as good as the nokia.
but i agree - i do hope someone from SE is taking note!

I'd hate to see what you (and this other host of of disgruntled T610 users) say when you start bashing this poor phone! The saying "With friends like these, who needs enemies." springs to mind!
Steven.
P.S. "Please don't think I'm just in a P800 bashing mood, but just letting you know my feelings at the moment..." - why-o-why is there no 'File menu > Exit/Quit' on any

app on the phone, and why-o-why no 'Edit menu > Undo' either?
