I guess this sort of issue is not a problem in Europe where you are not more than a stones throw from the nearest cell station so not having a signal is probably a rare thing. Certainly when I am working in Europe its rare to not have a signal.

They do, because as soon as I step out the door the signal goes back to full.
By the way, it's amazing how much power T610 uses in "No Signal" conditions. I guess constantly searching for networks puts quite a strain on the battery.

yeah... I recall on Nokias I could set the search interval but I don't see that on SE phones.

well seeing as we're off course and no-one minds, i don't feel bad about pointing out that during the power disappearance in London, my t610 registered full signal (as most of the time) but obviously couldn't make a call cos the transmitters were out. Interesting.
The power drain is important if you are away from civilization for too long - my t68 only lasts a couple of days in the hebrides if left on (orange haven't discovered much of this region yet) and the t610 doesn't seem to have any more power.
I too wanna see the red LED alert me to messages, missed calls etc - a nice pre-christmas present SE? Please?

Hmmmm no... Personally I do not believe in petitions.
As for signal strength in Europe.... masseur in any heavy populated area such as your station in Germany there would most likely not be a problem. But there are still large area's that are not very populated (i know places in Finland where only reindeer live
) where signal could become a problem. Even in my own small country there is no such thing as 100% coverage yet

well i occasionally get the no siganal thing but for some strange reason it had 3 signal bars but no siganl. i think it might be due to there being no o2 signal but other networks.
