--z600 question--
I'm new here so please be patient...

For work I have to use an old i60 Motorola (like the one Oco's dad has..). It's a whopping 34mm thick but I can actually sit on it! No kidding, it's indestructible!

Here is my dilemma: I got a T610 for my wife and, of course, I want a Sony now too for personal use - most likely the z600.
I like being able to fold my current flip-phone (the i60) over my back pocket (the slim hinge inside the pocket and the bulky hinge outside). Does anyone else carry their flip-phone "clamped" over a back pocket? Will this work with the z600?(I've read that the phone clicks shut..) And can I sit on it?

i do not know who oco's dad is so that comment makes very little sense to me.

The z600 does 'click' shut and i would not ever suggest to anybody carrying it the way you intend to coz it's a rather easy target to get stolen imho

Nor would I ever sit on my phone because it was not made for that so I wouldn't be too surpirsed if it will not support my wieght

having typed all this... it suddenly hits me that you are not for real anyway

Ok, here are many people complaining of the size of Z600...
Well, here is a tip so you actually can feel the thickness right in your pocket and hand...

Just get 5 floppy discs and put them together.
Then the thickness is 27 mm... And the height is almost correct (93 mm instead of the Z600 90 mm).

The only thing that not is correct is the width...floppy discs are 89 and Z600 48.

Well, actually I think it fits VERY NICE in my pocket. No problem at all. So I will definiatelly get this phone when it is for sale.
What do you guys think about it?

Do the test and post your comments.... =)

Best regards, Patrik

Well, here is another comparison:
The Z600 is thicker (0.9mm) than the Nokia 9210(i) communicator!!!
(Note that 9500 is 4mm thinner than Z600)

Given 9210 is a brick, Z600 is a small brick.

(I like Z600 though, except that when you open it, the screen part is lower than the keyboard part. I dont like that)

Edit: Z600 is actually 27.9mm thick. 9210 is 27mm thick

i actually like that because when i'm using the phone, the base of the screen rests on my forefinger, making it very stable.

@ Vlammetje

Why not?
Z600 thicker than 9210 is something

Vlammetje:
"Oco" is in reference to a user who posted to this forum (see post #4).

Well, you are right about me not being serious about sitting on the z600, but I really do want to know if you can walk around with the phone slung over your back pocket. Will the screen stay on? Or does it turn off when the phone is nearly all the way closed? This is the deciding factor on whether I get a z600 or a non-flip SE.
(I'm not really that concerned about it being stolen - in crowds or other situations it can always go in a front pocket.)

And finally, sorry if this is off-topic or an old debate, this just seemed like the right place to ask someone!
