for the blokey with the prob of his phone not accepting 0000 as the device code RING SONY ERICSSON AND SAY YOUR DEFAULT PHONE CODE DOES NOT WORK they will then advise on how to reset
do not go on to them about PUK codes as itll just have you going round in circles
bit of advice on PUK's
the PUK can only be entered around 10 times, if its entered wrong more than that then the SIM does a suicide act and becomes 'fried' and needs to be replaced.
a PUK is triggered when the SIM PIN is entered wrong 3 times.
PUK2 code is also on the SIM and nothing to do with the phone. it is usually used by most operators as the security barrier to setting network services such as call cost and fixed dialling etc
i dont know how many attempts it takes to fuk up on the PUK2 but i woudlnt advise it as it too will fry your SIM if entered wrong
hope this helps and ends the endless reams of guesswork in this thread
