im arguing because i dont understand why you are posting in this tread at all?? if you dont know anything, fine, thats it, but why are you posting when you infact dont have a clue about the subject more then whats on the official pages? i can read those myself

im not interrested in assumptions from a sceptical person, assumption is the mother of all f**kups, as quoted from under siege 2, and the fact that you assume things arent there until youre proved otherwise, and that your opinion is that i should wait and see, indicates that you shouldnt be posting in a speculating tread at all, more that you should be working in a customer support and only state the facts as they are given to you in black and white from your employer

i have asked and as usual they dont know anything, if they had all the answers we wouldnt need esato at all, would we?

the reason i started this tread wasnt because i had a dream last night, its because at least 2 different facts indicate that there could be a handsfree speker in the T230 and im wondering if anybody else knows anything for a fact, or has heard anything

why guess and hope, when i could be waiting and seeing? because guessing and hoping is what makes life worth living in my opinion

You are undermining your own point of view: first you quote from under siege, then you change your mind and find guessing to be the spice of life. Just curious: which is it? This message was posted from a WAP device

1. This thread is in the General forum, not the rumours forum.
2. If you have already made up your mind, why ask?
3. If my opinion is not interesting to you, doesn't neccesserily mean that it's not interesting to anybody else.
4. There has to be a voice of reason among all these speculations.
5. Anybody gan post wild guesswork, it's a bit more difficult to filter out the facts and post reliable information, or at least inform when the information is unreliable.
6. You don't own the thread just because you started it, so you can not decide who posts here and who doesn't

Assuming that T230 doesn't have a speaker phone becuase there is no mention of it make sense, since manufacturers tend to advertise functions instead of keeping them secret.
On the other hand, assuming that it does have the speakerphone simply because there is a secondary speaker (which according to is used for playing sounds/ringtones) doesn't make nearly as much sense.

If I followed your logic then, there could have been a speaker phone in the T610 as well. The speaker on T610 can play voice recordings loud without problems. The fact is there is no speakerphone on T610 even though there could have been one. Reasons? Perhaps microphone isn't good enough, perhaps the DSP (digital sound processing) chip is not good enough; it's not just the speaker that's responsible for the speakerphone function.

This is a discussion forum, so maybe you should get used to people having different opinions from yours.

[EDIT]
If dreaming about phone fuctions makes your life worth living then - congradulations! I guess you have indeed found the meaning of life.

@judge

in this case im first of all hoping and therefore not interested in assumptions that point otherwise..

also i belive there is a small difference between guessing and assuming, but point well taken, i should have left that last remark out, but it just sounded so good

i am guessing, not assuming that there could be a handsfree speaker present, and i hope someone else knows or has his/hers own guesses or maybe assumptions if they are well backed up, and they havent been up until this point

@wrath

1. im not trying to start a rumour, and im not talking about one, im trying to find out a fact, if there is a speakerphone or not in the T230, but maybe this tread should have been placed elsewhere, sorry, its the first time im starting a tread

2. i have not made up my mind

3. up until your last post your opinion was as far as i know, only based on official pages information

4. yes, and with your last post youre opinion is finally starting to make sense

5. yes, but up until now you didnt seem to have any information other than that one from pages

6. i havent said you have no right posting in here, i just didnt understand why you did it

im not assuming that T230 have a speaker phone simply becuase there is no mention of it

im not assuming that it can have speakerphone only because there is a secondary speaker

logic? logic tells me that there could have been a speakerphone in the T610 but there istn, maybe for the same reasons that dont let their users choose a sms tone freely on many of their latest phones, simply beacuse they dont want to, or maybe beacuse they want people to buy their desktop speakerstand?

my logic tells me that since there is no mention from about the speakerphone in Z600, but there is one, and i belive its there, maybe there could be one in T230 also? is that ilogical?

after reading your last post below #6 you now make much more sense, why didnt you write all that in your first post?

ok, so your smart and can make well thoughtout assumptions, but i didnt know that until just now, and you shouldnt expect that everybody else knows that and therefore accepts your assumptions without knowing what they are based on, which i do now, and btw, it makes much more sense now, thank you

however, i dont buy your assumption even based on those facts, simply becuase all manufactures besides is capable of having speakerphone in their products, so it cant be that hard can it?? if it is that hard for maybe they should stop making mobile phones, and throw in the towel?

and if the T610 is capable of playing recorded sounds loud enough, that only proves my point even more, that the only reason they dont have spekerphonefunction is simply beacuse they up until now simply didnt want to, but maybe they have changed their mind with the Z600 and the T230

thats is my hope, and im trying to get it confirmed one way or the other

and yes, dreaming is indeed wonderful, and can make life worth living, opening my eyes and looking at the facts of the world today, there is much more likely that i would feel like dropping dead right away

@phonepro: That change of attitude is welcome. I do believe this thread could have gone another way should you have employed it to begin with. Try to understand our point of view, as well: every day comes someone who posts his/her wishes, dreams, hallucinations and hear-say, only adding to the confusion. Hard facts are difficult to find. Do you think you would have been better off if we told you that there is FOR SURE a speakerphone on the T230?! Definitely not, in my opinion. Wrath was only trying to provide you with actual facts, not misleading ones. Your initial judgement was also correct to some extent - I do hope that SE will include this function in phones. My experience with this feature on other phones was a deception, however...

pardon me...

I have a T23O and it does indeed have a second speaker (two small holes on a side) intended to play back MIDI ringtones with high qulity, also avoiding the risk of hearing loud ringtones from the main ear-speaker while holding the phone by the ear.

It does not have speakerophone functions.

Note that there are conflicting informations around about the number of bands supported: SonyEricsson developers web site states 3-band, while the original boxing states GSM 900/1800. So it appears to be onli 2-bands.
