Actually you are charged for each message sent to your network provides's MMS server, NOT based on your GPRS traffic. I have WAP unlimited on orange and just for the sake of it I tried sending a MMS using my WAP APN. Worked like a charm (although according to orange it shouldn't have) but I obviously got charged for it.
