Because eXpansys have the 256 at £90, I expect the 512 to be around £220. I expect this as it's the at the top end, and the pricing for memory usually goes along these lines.

dont know where you shop. But what I see is that when memory is double the size it is double the price but less alittle in make you think it is a better deal to spend more money. Its always been like that in the shops I see, cause why would it be double but more?? if it was like that then you would just by two little ones and save the money!

It's like this because the 512 is the biggest.
If you don't beleive me, look at
http://www.mymemory.uk.com
I looked at their prices just after I posted, and they seem to follow the theory.
Edit:
Although only just!
Normally, the memory sizes follow your theory, until you get to the top end, and the largest module available is extortionate. It would seem possibly not in this case.

understand.
http://www.mymemory.uk.com sells memory that is not out yet. Which means they can put anything on a price because people will order thinking that they will get it early but realy there just going on back order.
Here in Austria at Cosmos, Media Market, Nedi Mayer and the other I can not remember the name goes of my theroy, also on sonz.com web site!
If your paying more for memory that is bigger then the smaller size, go else where!

OK, well things must be different over there.
Like I say, here things work the same until you get right to the top, and then the prices get silly/attract a premium.
Almost all
memory prices on eXpansys for everything seem to follow that rule.
Edit:
I can't actually find any of the sites you mention - apart from sonz.com which appears to be a website for hiring actors! Any chance you could post a link or two?
...Perhaps you mean Sony.com!!
256MB Pro - $119.99 (x2 = $239.98)
512MB Pro - $299.99 (x2 = $599.98)
1GB Pro - $599.99
Does it show something different in NZ?
