Why does people use MSN in the first place? Stay away from M$ solutions all they want is people to use M$ based computers or phones. And they wll never change. Force people to use their stuff, destroy standards etc.

Well it's the same case here ..... thousands of users use the servers without having the msn program and other companies like trillian can make profit with this, it makes sence that they are banning third party application ......

Yahoo seem to have already changed their login method and Trillian can't keep up. They have made a note of this on their (Trillian) site that they don't support it yet. By the sounds of it, they won't actually be able to....

First of all, everyone with Windows XP has got MSN Messenger built in... don't remember how it was in 2K and ME.
I have a Microsoft Passport!!! That's what I'm using to logon to MSN in Trillian. I don't use more of M§ bandwidth than I would have done if I would have used MSN.

I dunno wot ur on about Trillian not being able 2 keep up with Yahoo.

Hmm... I will never get a M$ Passport that's for sure. Sites that will use that can count on one customer less. With all M$ security problems I will not trust them with passwords.

The only personal details I ever give for sites that pointlessly ask u 2 register 2 access their services is usually DOB and my hotmail email (coz its rarely used and just full of SPAM! 24/7)
I always put my name as anon and email
anon@anon.com.
I have learnt my lesson from a couple of years back when I found my name and a couple of details in the Bigfoot directory, and when I asked them to take them off, they never replied.
That and I dont trust Microshaft either. Dont buy their products, but dont mind 'evaluating' for them

Looks like Trillian and all other 3rd party IM clients are screwed over Yahoo. The patches just don't work at this point in time. As for MSN, they're introducing an encryption based system and it's supposedly illegal to reverse engineer a work around. So unless MSN license it (not hopeful), we are going to suffer.
ICQ and AOL are still relatively non-proprietary at this stage. At least AOL has learnt its lesson when it tried to block out 3rd party clients.
