@Sher
1) You can't do it, will never be able to do it, and should save yourself some bother by not trying to do it.

2) Veramania is...well, Vermanis is Vermania. Just ignore *anything* posted by this itinerate waste of space IT engineer....

why do u think i will not be able to do it.
the only problems i see is
finding the camera which would fit in.
otherwise I can edit the firmware to recreate it according to my preference.
Have done editing of firmware on Nokia's, Samsung and Siemens so i believe there would'nt be much of a problem in sonyericsson too.

I guess it is always worth trying, knowledge always increases.

...if you insist, there is nothing stopping you I suppose - I would suggest that if you are so inisistent, that you look for a job with !! It just strikes me as the same as saying:

"I have a Nokia 5110. Now, if I can find a colour screen that will fit into the case, and I can reprogramme the 'firmware' to utilise the new screen; and I can replace the keyboard with something better....blah blah blah....."

Invent a phone from scratch - whatever is the point of doing what you want to do? Why buy the P800 in the first place? I just think that you are simply asking too much.... Where will you find a replacement camera etc....?

Best of luck to your efforts, just don't expect too much imput from users on this forum because I really think you are stepping too far 'outside of the box' on this issue!!

Steven

@sher

"I guess it is always worth trying, knowledge always increases."

No offence intended here, but that sounds like Frankenstein methadology. The ends rarely justify the means, and quite frankly I would have said the whole idea is laughable.
I'm not trying to pour cold water on your enthusiasm, but I don't see why you posted asking if this were possible since you seem determined to go ahead and do it anyway. Quite honestly it smacks of sensationalism and I would suspect that you are just trying to show off.
This is not intended as an insult, it is intended as constructive criticism. If you do attempt this and it works then congratulations, but be warned, it is more than likely to fail, so please don't get your hopes up.

@ ScotsBoyUK
Well said Scotsboy!
BTW - where in Scotland u from?

@ Sher
The very best of luck to u. If u pull it off this will be amazing. However, do u really think u can rewrite the P800 firmware? Can u get hold of the source code even?

The source code can be found in china. Anything can be found in china. I think on corner of Sony Ave and Source Street. There is a little man that sells them on a Pirate Copy CD for $3.
