Yeah you've definately been boinked mate. I just bought my phone last monday and they never told me anything about giving me a refurbished crappy phone. They were "Oh yeah we'll give you a new replacement" etc. etc. My advice is to a) complain and as the second poster said, report it stolen

Definitely complain, I had a bit of bother with insurance from the CPW a couple of years ago and they would have just happily left things as they were unless I had complained.
The secret is to never speak to the normal members of staff, the phone jockeys, demand to speak to a smanager or supervisor. When you do ask they will no doubt say that you have to have a reason, just insist on speaking with a boss. Don't let them fob you off either, say that you will stay on the phone for as long as it takes.
When you do speak to the boss, don't be rude, but be firm and irate. Don't let him fob you off either with their crap excuses. Don't let him sway you with 'its our usual policy and nothing can be done'. If he isn't giving in to you, play your trump card. Threaten legal action, say you have been to a lawyer and you have been informed that you have the basis for a case. Then soften it by saying that you don't want that hassle, but that if he doesn't play ball then you will.
Oh and do what I did, demand that they reimburse you for the cost of the phone calls and travelling you have had to make in order to deal with this problem.
