jben - i have been backup'ing correctly with all the correct software and ms outlook and usb cable .... i have two p800's when i first got them the other one was a bit tempermental at connecting and now fine and the problem phone was fine to start with and then went tempermental.

I am a manager of a certain network provider and sell this for a living ( as well as provide training for other staff and am main contact for p800 q's ) so i have a very good understanding of the ins and outs ..... pity i dont work for the technical support team lol

thankyou for your help i appreciate it, i may regret mentioning the above but i thought it would help you and others to know the level of my knowledge.

its difficult with forums as you never know how much the others know

( i mean no offence to you at all and i hope non is taken from my reply )

JAH - nope when i switch it back on it wont go any further than the orange sunset screen - it freezes when the sun hits the top corner ...

i cant even get in to bluetooth my contacts over to my other p800

*sniff* *sniff*

Okay - are you still there?

A quick search revealed a few people who claimed that battery can be a problem. Why not switch batteries between your two P800s. Also you could try charging the current battery. A bit of a wild shot. Do you what firmware version you are on? Acccording to recent posts the latest firmware will re-boot rather than showing a TOD. Also, my P800 does not have the rising sun screen - is this an Orange phone perhaps?

Jah needs shut eye now.

Good luck.

(You may not know but the OS of the Symbian is based on EPOC32. Now with the Psion 5mx / Ericsson MC12, ie EPOC32, it was possible to store the contacts db on the memory card and therfore it was much safer. Funny how some things go backwards!)

I had the same problem and the phone went dead. You need a firmware update to fit it. The problem that was causing this wont be in the new firmware and you get some new functionality too.
As for your backup problem; the new version 1.5.1 fixes several backup problems including the AppForge problem.

Maybe they can do something for you at the service center. There's nothing you can do yourself. Sorry for you but I'm sure of that.

Good luck!
