This really pisses me off too...
The biggest drawback with the T610 IMO!
Not to mention the weak ringtone. I don't know how many calls I have missed because of this. Thinking of going back to my good old T39 and sell the T610. It don't have color display and all the fancy stuff, but at least you can hear it ring outside.

I just checked my phone, T610 R1L...
I have vibration on always btw!
The calendar reminder just plays a little jingle (3sek) without vibrating.
Just showing a message on the screen telling you that you have an
apointment.
The timer also plays a little jingle without vibrating but starts to flash
until you press ok on the phone...
The alarm is fully functional with tune/sound selection and vibrating...

I personally think poly ringtones are not loud enough on any phone. If you switch to a high pitched mono ring tone it will be louder. Poly ringtones are very overrated!
