aland - can i ask you if the replacement housing from GM was exactly the same as the old one or not - i've heard concerns that these housings are missing the slot for the memory stick card ???

The whole concern i do believe, should be that there is slats in the battery cover to offer more support and make it more rigid. These weren't there on earlier models of P800's, and it meant you could store a memory card inbetween the cover and the battery

Yep, that's the case. Later housings had supporting ribs. I trimmed them away with a sharp craft knife.
