I also don't think that this is a fair comparison, the P800 is a PDA phone, playing games wasn't the first priority when the p800 was designed, in other words, the Nokia N-Cage was designed for the younger generation who'd like to play games on their phone, the p800 has much more (full-featured) capabilities than just playing games.
In my opinion it's better to buy a Gameboy than to buy a phone like this, Nokia hasn't got any experience in developing (portable) game-consoles like Nintendo has.
So if you want to play games everywhere you go I think it is better to buy a Gameboy than to spend your money on a phone like this.

The N-gage is an attempt for nokia to make a good gaming device because of all the success from snake and stuff. So this was there next logical step. No way can they dream to compete with p800 they have no competition. However the device is awfull in design the reset button is to close to the gaming buttons whihc can be disaterous and basing it on the 3300 design is a bit poo as you have to take the batterey out to change mmc. The screen is the wrong way around aswell.
GBA has problems as it is nothing special it plays game thats it and the games are stupidly priced
PSP however is looking good if sony can stick to deliver what they claim with gaming abilities along with mp4 play back and movies in the UDMA format. It is not a phone just a great gaming device UDMA discks look tasty. There is reports abotut possibly making a GSM adaptor but this probalby wont happen....for some time at least
Any way back to Nokia they will try to enjoy as many sales as possible from the kids pestering mummy and daddy. Then eventually some one else will make one unless Nokia's hand set falls flat on it's face then it will just be a forgotten market segment.
Is it a rival for p800 yes it is a rival for the p800 in the same terms as a SL55 being a rival to the p800

The Nokia N-Gage = a totally un-N-Gaging experience. and even though the P800 was not designed to be a gamers phone, it can still shift more polygons than Nokias new ugly duckling, and in full widescreen mode too.

Why compare the two phones?
If your priority is gameplay than get the n-gage.
Playing arcade games in the p800 won't be fun.
But if you want an organizer, get the p800.
They aren't exactly targeted to the same market you know.

how can you compare these two ????
and get a gameboy advance sp istead of n-gage.. it's nothing more nokia 3650 with just some 3d engines. and with mgs (magic game station) you can also play same quality games on 7650/3650

okay guys I'm sure he gets the picture by now that he can't compare the 2 but in all honesty. I have played with the Ngage and sonic and tomb raider look damn good I mean really good. I've got sonic on my p800 and it looks good, but you just can't play it with the jog dial.
The PSP is gonna rock the world when sony finally launches and guess who's gonna make the cellular add-on yep thats right SE!!
And it's gonna have a bluetooth module as well. But what Is going to be the real competition will be Nintendo's response to the PSP. Word is they are already planning the next game boy in response to SONY's PSP. I wonder will they decide to stick to a games machine to rival sony or will they go the Nokia convergance route?? But come end of next year the portable gaming market is gonna boom and then a year later we got PS3 wooh hooh.
There has never been a better time to be into games and gadgets!!
