Yeah, I discovere this a while ago (and posted about it in another thread). Only seems to work on certain networks and yes it also works with agile messenger, netwirc and other applications as well as with Opera.

Here is the deal...I work for Orange and i get free GPRS WAP...UNLIMITED! But normal users can get unlimited WAP for £4 per month after the initial 3 month free trial.
As for the Opera browser your right it does work on GPRS "WAP" which was not expected....the result FULL internet on my p800 through a WAP gateway! WICKEDDDDD!!!

@JiggyJaggy
I also work for orange (retail), I assume your free WAP is thru liberate, yes? I don't have my liberate phone but am expecting it soon.
Are you telling me that on my regular contract with which I have the free 3 months open access trial that i can use the GPRS WAP (not GPRS NET) on my P800 to browse the full internet for free? Or even dialup? is that possible?
If so I am very very excited!

Right, good.
I already have a P800 on my contract you see (with opera), but when I get my liberate phone I'm just gonna swap the sims over and do it that way.
Then I have a small phone I can use for phone calls, and then I have my P800 for all of the data-related things I need to do (with my free wap sim card).
Are you absolutely sure I'm not going to get charged for this? I don't want to go and rack up 10MB of downloads just to find I have £40 on my bill when it comes through!

That exactly what i do...i got my liberate in a P800 and my other Orange sim in a 8910.
In theory you wont get charged....but im not takign chances...will use it for say three days and then call Orange and check my bill...if there is no charge for the GPRS WAP im sorted!

for crying out loud, it's been discussed to death.
It works only on certain sites where they simply forgot to block off GPRS access through the WAP gateway.
It used to work for me, but when the local carrier found out, they shut it down, and it no longer works.
