my voda branded t610 came unlocked which was nice. then i just took it to a service center and told them what firmware i wanted (non branded) and they did it. then i scratched off the vodafone red labels... all sweet!

for £15 you can buy a terminator dongle and download all the software needed to do all this to your phone yourselves. you can remove all the vodafone stuff, you can change the language of the firmware, you can update the firmware, and if you need to take your phone in for repair and are scared about them thinking your warranty is void, you can upload all the vodafone stuff back onto it and they won't notice.
