It's not the time zone that is changing (you're still in UK) but the daylight savings. It worked automaticly for me this morning, although there is no setting in the phone menu (eg. Auto daylight savings on/off). The phone asked if I wanted to change the time, pushed yes and it went back 1 hour. Auto zime zone is a different thing. It changes time when you travel to different world time zones.

The Auomatic Time Zone feature get's it's time when your phone attaches itself to GPRS.
So one way to letting the T610 (And other SE phones as well) update their clock is to go to Connectivity and select Data comm. and there go to Preferred service and switch from GSM & GPRS, and then after a 2 second wait, switch it back on again. The phone will reattach to GPRS and check if it's clock is set.
Nokias do the same, except, they only do it when you connect to WAP.
This is a very cool feature, but it depends on your operator if it works.

It worked when i turned the phone off and on again this morning,if it was'nt for my dodgy broadband from ntl and not being able to access Esato on wap all day,then i would of posted earlier

heh my t610 pulled out that dialog right after i turned it off and on..
my friend explained it IS a network dependent.. and it happens only when u turn on the phone..
+ some networks may set a lil counter to check yer time every 6th TURN ON or so(if i understood it correctly)
cause its kind of heavy usage for network if ya do it every time u turn on mob..
and I am very sure its not related to gprs as some ppl say..
huh why was that feature in t28 then??

It is plain and simple a little clock counter in the phone that after switching the unit BACK ON checks itself to the clock of the network provider (if there is one and most providers do). And indeed, this feature was invented for frequent travellers, hence why it only works after switching yer phone and on (as if you were on an airplane)
And Boyi... what proof of island thinking to assume that
ONLY the UK would have daylight saving aka summertime/wintertime
