It was a marketing strategy, SE needed a phone quick with both the Sony & Ericsson name on it! So they thought: "Hey, we have a new software ready for the T68m, why not redesign the phone, write Sony Ericsson on it, and launch it as a new phone, and stall the upgrade for T68m-owner till' the point they go mad and buy a T68i instead"!
Maybe not something I can base on facts, but it's a thought anyway!

I hadn't tried any ericsson cell phone b4. I was amazed the look and features by t68m when SE announced it and I was starting to look at Ericsson's cell phone.
After it released, I brought it rite the way without thinking other alturnatives. Thought I was making the smart choice.
But I was totally wrong. I was only the tester, a stupid trial ware for SE to see if this shit gonna make profit for them.
After 3 months, after they knew you guys like that stuff, they released the T68i with the REAL T68 features, MMS, photo albums..etc.
What the heck is that Marketing plan??? Fooling customers around by releasing same cell phone with different look? The later you buy, the better the got??
yea.. whatever SE wanna do in the future, they would lose customer (me) at least. This phone is gonna be the last SE phone I use in my life. NO more fooling around by them.

The later you buy the better you got.
This is true most of the times with almost
everything you can buy.
Factorys improve their products when they
gain more experience with manufacturing it.
Fixing both hardware and software bugs.
I think this is good, it would be worse if they
did not improve their products just cause
ppl who bought it first should have exactly the
same as one who bought it months later.
If you have warranty and have a problem
turn it in and get it fixed. (I recommend waiting
until the new software is released since the
change gonna be pretty big)
Someone said there will be a update of T68i software also
(might be same as T68m perhaps a software merge)
Right now I'm very happy with my T68i but if there is a later
software released and it fixes important stuff I will defenitly
go get it upgraded
(not in a hurry though since the phone works nicely)
