I was told some time before the P900 was released that SE were working on a new "Tablet" phone. I said "You mean the revised P800 that people are taking about", I was told no, this is a new "tablet" phone. I was given no more information than that, but they did seem to keep using the word "tablet", so take from that that you can. Also, the way they were taking was that the release of both device would noy be too far apart.

But what about this pricing in Dubai?
This has really piqued my interest.

By the looks of it, releasing one smartphone model a year might be SE's new strategy (something like Nokia). So this means that the rumor may be true.

BTW, I am not getting the P900 becuase I don't have the money. And a lot of the 3rd party apps that I use in my P800 equals and even exceeds the capabilities of the new P900.

So what are we saying here, if for example we are in a relationship with a lovely girl, as soon as we see a prettier one in the street, we ditch the old cow & go for the tasty new one with fresh features...
....... sounds good to me !!!!!

folks, some rumours (like this one) aren't exactly rumours, they are LOGICAL FACTS. concerning this case, what did you want? that sony ericsson make the p800 and never release a substitute for it? p900 was a matter of time and now that is has been officially presented and almost in the stocks, what do you think? that sony ericsson isn't already thinking about the substitute for p900 or even the substitute for that one? of course they are! *developing* technology is 5 years ahead from reality. well in fact THAT is the reality. the p900 is the past/present, reality is what we are now expecting (wifi, umts, a whole new set of ideas). can't you see it? this behavior is the brand of this time when audi releases a new a6, we -but above all, audi- are already thinking about the substitute. YOU decide whether to stay with a great p800 which does everything you want and more OR to be tempted by the novelty. if you chose the second option (MOST OF US DO) you WILL buy the p900 sooner or later and WILL buy the p1000 or whatever sooner or later. this is how things are like it or not.

Personally I am sticking with the P800. It serve smy needs more than adequately. If and when SE do release a new smartphone next year then I may or may not upgrade to it. It all really depends on what the new phone has to offer. For me the P900 doesn't offer sufficient advantages to get rid of my P800, certainly not at the price they will surely be charging for it at any rate.
The point about forver waiting is a valid one, however, I think there is also a case to be made for waiting an appropriate amount of time. I would certainly recommend someone who is currently rhinking of buying a smartphone and doesn't already have the P800 to hold on for the P900, but for me the matter is simply down to functionality. My working day won't be made an appreciable amount easier by a 65k colour screen or a 20% smaller phone. Now if the P900 could drive a car, pick up my dry cleaning, tidy my house and shut up the innane people I deal with on a daily basis I would be first in line.

the girl/P800 analogy is a horrible one
how can u compare a phone with a girl that u love?
now if she is just some random chickita, then hell yeah if u know u can get with the hotter one

Well that goes to show that there are some people who don't LOVE their P800 and there are who does!
