> GUYS, 2 thumbs down for P900
Bookmark topic
I see that reactionary idiots are still prevalent in here! The guy is stating his opinion and what is more he is backing it up with valid experience and evidence. This is his right, it is called free speech. Perhaps some of you come from countries where free speech is non-existent, but on the Internet and in most Western countries it is a sacred right.
I don't give a monkeys if people don't agree with the chap or me for that matter, because he has every right to say whatever he feels like, whether or not that is substantiated!
Personally I am in agreement with the comments made in the original message of this thread regarding the P900. I do think that it is a waste of money if one alreaady has a P800. If people who have a P800 want to go out and buy it then fair enough that is their choice.
As I stated elsewhere in this forum, the P900 just doesn't add enough new features that would significantly ease my working day (I use mine for business and pleasure) to warrant spending more money on it. I should also mention at this point that I wouldn't even be paying for it since it would be paid for by the company I work for! I just think that a few cosmetic changes and such don't warrant the expenditure!
If you disagree by all means do so, but perhaps it could be constructed in a way that doesn't degenerate to the lowest possible denominator?

Well said scot!
The P900 is a good phone. But my P800 with 3rd party apps can match the capabilities of the P900.

very true.
i was thinknig of getting the phone through my company but im not due to get one till next year

will probably go for something else cause i bet there will be dozens of new phones with similar features of the P900 and/or even more.
I knew though that some people would react differently to my original post cause some people cant just accept other people's opinion!
P900 is a very dull phone IMO. I'm just gonna wait for something else, a phone that has way better capabilities than the P800. till then, i will enjoy my P800

Here here! The P900 is a nice phone, good features, etc, but because I already have a P800 it just doesn't seem necessary to upgrade. Don't get me wrong, if someone was going to buy a smartphone and didn't have the P800 I would advise them to get the upgraded model, the P900.
Personally I will be awaiting the arrival of SE's next smartphone next year.

The guy goes out of his way to share with you what he thinks and after being one of the first to actually play with the thing, and after he takes his time to write down and post it you call the man a W*#@er.
This is precisely the idiotic and childish crap we all don't want and need on this forum.
If you find fault with an SE products they get all silly and emotional.
I like SE products, they are innovative and can be well developed but if there is another telephone company that are making better phones more suited to what I want then I will buy that one. Namely Sendo.
These guys have this blind loyalty to SE,
Question: Do you think that SE always have the same level of commitment to you.,
Answer: No, Its loyalty is to the market share and the price of SE shares on the stock exchanges around the world. This is a company that must make money or go out of business.
If SE manufactured some old piece of shit they would buy it and say they love it. True loyalty is being able to say, “No SE you did not do this or that right”, not that they would listen anyway.
To the guy that gave us the detailed and informative review, I thank you on behalf of the real SE FAITHFUL, for your honesty and truthfulness. Not everyone is so immature with regards to choosing his/her phone. It is because we like SE products so much, that we can be so critical about the small things wrong with them.
The wonderful thing about boards/forums is that we don't all like the same things.
ONE PERSONS MEAT IS ANOTHERS POISON.

SE do get it wrong from time to time. They aren't infallible and I think that the P900 is a prime example of that. Good phone, but just not enough to warrant releasing it now. They really would have been better keeping the bugger for a bit longer and really jazzing it up. A true improvement over the P800 wouldn't have sparked debates such as this.

jjay,
u r spot on. if SE doesnt sell, they may cut their losses and shut down in the near future. P900 just doesnt offer what i thought it did at first. The reviews u guys have been reading must have been endorsed by SE
another thing, im a person who a marketer looking for loyalists to fast sell their products to ,hate. I stay loyal to brands if they keep bringing in new stuff and the BRAND doesnt try to rip people off. Thats what i found P800 and SE. I bought it cause i believed that almost all applications i needed were on the phone and my opinion stands till this day. However, when the same company tries to bring in the same damn technology with a little improvement, thats when i start to get a bit reactive(negative mostly).
I could have called myself the biggest fan of nokia in the last 7 years or so since the days when i was a student in the US. However, recently, nokia just became another company that does its best to rip people off with flashy covers. Nokia uses different technologies in different phones trying to get customers to buy all their damn phones. It worked in the past but it doesnt work with me anymore. I have changed and i do try different brands if i see something better out there. Consumers have to be smart and have to resist the marketers unscurpulous intentions. We have to force marketers/sellers to come out with the latest in technology and not vice versa(as in force us to buy whatever product they come out with).
those r my thoughts only..

@ D_G,
I agree 100% with U. I hate Nokia because of the reason u mentioned. Now I believe that

is heading that direction too ... Look at the T300 and T310 .... Now the P800 and P900 .... That makes me wanna

If this goes on, I'm staying away from

... But the only thing they still have that NOkia has lost is value for money. NOkia phones are expensive, U get scarce technology in it.

's price is ok compared to the stuff in their phone. But I hate it when they try to mask a current phone under a new cover and call it a new phone !

It's good that ppl share their experiences with a new phone.
What comes in mind for me is that most ppl who say negative
things about P900 already have a P800 and that makes me think
perhaps they would have a slight diffrent opinion about the
phone if they didn't already have the presessor.
I realize that if you already have the P800 the changes
made might not be worth what they sell the phone for
but it would be nice to also get a fresh view from someone who
don't have a P800 or someone that do and still can keep objective
and think about the ppl whos thinking of getting that kinda phone
for the first time ie. ppl who don't own a P800.
I for one like the looks of P900 alot more then P800 but I wouldn't go
around telling ppl to buy a P900 instead of a P800 just based on looks.
If I was gonna buy a smartphone today I would go with P900 cause
it's the latest and defenitly have some improvments over P800
if I already had a P800 I would prolly not get a P900 cause it's
alot of money for that step.
cheers!

Hey SE adopting Nokia's marketing tactic isn't that bad.
This is because it works and brings in the money.
Selling the P900 would temp unhappy p800 users to buy it.
More $$$ for SE!!! I'm not complaining because they have to do it to keep afloat... or else we won't have SE phones anymore. = ( We almost had an SE fallout last year when the joint venture kept on having quarterly losses. Good thing they're turning in profits now. Lets just hope they're not as complacent as nokia and lag in terms of technology and phone quality. If that happens, I'm switching brands.
