I honestly believe that Java on the T68i was impossible.. the phone was WAY too slow to handle Java... it even chokes on animated gifs!!! I think

was wise not to develop Java for the T68i... it just would've brought out more complaints.

This has all come from

giving the T68m > T68i upgrade.
People seem to think that just because

gave us that, then they should do it for every phone.
The only reason we were given the 68i upgrade, was because the original T68m didnt come with features we were promised.
As far as i know, we've been given in the p800 exactly what

promised when they released it.
okay, an upgrade of some sort would be nice... but as masseur said, these petitions have never worked, and probably never will.

P800 owners are just pi$$ed because SE have upgraded their phone to a new and improved version....within a year....be real, thats all it is nothing else...end of story.
P800 owners who actually use 90% of the phones functions are in the minority.....you guys will probably upgrade when you need to anyway....as for the rest of you....i'd be upset too if i just spent some hard earned money on the top of the range handset for its replacement to be announced not long after my purchase.....at least give me a year to show off with the "best phone on the market"
well really, i dont pity any of you...most of you bought the phone for the wrong reasons so deserve to have your treasured handset replaced by a better version.
if there was no P900 available no one whould be saying sh**.
SE are not listening anyway....they never listen....if you want a P900, save up and go buy one....stop the bloody moaning.....awww, they just upgraded my phone, i only just spent £500 on it......welcome to the real world, a far cry from the fantasy land alot of P800 owners live in...never before have i seen such a high end phone being sold to the masses as the P800 is...i mean real dumb dumbs who dont even know what GPRS is are amongst the many users of this phone.....waste of technology.
seeing as most P800 owners bought their phones and dont use half the functions, this should teach them a lesson in only buy what you need, that way you wont cry when its replacement is announced as it properly serves your purpose......realists will upgrade without complaint or be satisfied with what they've got.
...and before you start, i buy any phone i want, always have and always will...didnt get a P800 because its bigger than what im prepared to carry....my back catalogue of phones owned reads like the top phones of all time yet i'm now at the stage where its all getting rather boring as people are just getting taken for suckers every other month by a new model superceding the last.
i'm now harking back to the days of simplicity where a phone just has to function simply.
SE were nearly there by having a simple line of handsets that lasted the test of time but what they've realised is that this may be good for the consumer but bad for business so they've had to fill their line up with some "lifestyle" phones which do nothing but make up the numbers.....a bit like 80% of Nokia's phone range.....i'm not committed to either make, just happen to currently own a SE......if they dont introduce speakerphone handsfree soon, i'm off to Nokia with my next purchase and its currently looking like the 6230.....there i go again, saying i want it siple but planning my next purchase?!?!

its asking way too much for people to realise comments made do not apply to all.
didnt you say "i don't care enough to move my sweaty arse crack off my chair and do something about it"...maybe the thread starter should have mentioned you dont have to travel to your local townhall to air your vote, its online

ive just been flicking thru the petition, and looking at people comments.
theres lots of people mentioning the t68m > t68i upgrade...
and quite a few saying how they have major bugs, that 2.1 fixes..
1. what major bugs? please enlighten me.
2.how do they know 2.1 fixes them?

Well, people paid a lot for the phone (which costs pretty much like a PC). They expect to get OS software upgrades (sometimes major) every so often.
I'm waiting for the day when smartphones transform into something like a PC... Everybody can choose which OS to run and with interchangable apps... (all apps work on the all phones with the same OS... no porting necessary). And OS upgrades are not hard to come by. But with the Nokia marketing srategy that Sony Ericsson seems to be adopting, looks like my dream will not happen.
Handspring made a good (customer-oriented) move recently when they allowed old Treo users to upgrade to a Treo 600. Phone companies should adopt that kind of customer oriented-strategy to retain customers. Makes me think of switching to a Treo 600 if i get a chance (although it's freatures are relatively equal to the P800... even a little less... it's price is very much lower)... can't wait for the next generation.
