But from a pda viewpoint the Ipaq beats the P800/900 hands down anyday. Theres no question about that !!
Yes, like i said.. if you want a PDA, buy a PDA... this only a SMARTPHONE !!
And a P800 beats a Ipaq hands down if you want to make a call or take a picture

yes indeed youre right - thats why I carry my Ipaq AND my T610
Or only my T610 if I'm going out and dont need the pda functions of the P800 bulking the pocket of my nice jacket - hehe
And I never take pictures using the lousy phonecams of the P800/T610 anyways, pictures I take with my Canon Digitalcamera
But like I said I wasnt trying to dizz the P800/900 - it is "only" a smartphone, but a nice one at that. It all boils down to what do you really need. Its like good hi-fi equipment - if you really need the best quality you go for singular optimized devices - but if less can cut it, a combined set takes up less space and may very well be enough to fullfill your needs. My main reason to get into this discussion is only that I think its important to actually know the difference - and not beleiving the hype that the small combined sets (like smartphones) can do everything just as good as singular optimized devices - as the advertisments would have us beleive.

i own an xscale pda (loox) right now. i bought it because of it's looks, and also because it had both sd and cf slots.
but after almost 1.5 years of experience, i have realized i won't do any fancy things with my pda/phone. basic PIM stuff (definately need a "today screen" program and a week calendar replacement). never listened to mp3, never watched video except for the first couple of days when i was testing it to the max.
so i probably won't do a lot with it after all. so when it only bogs down when you run doom and vrally simultaneously, that's fine by me since i won't do that anyhow. (i'm exaggerating, don't tell me it won't work

)
as long as pocket informant for symbian (which doesn't exist, but i will need some kind of pim replacement package) is snappy, sms/mms and phone calls are quick to do, i'll be one happy camper.
