I will be holding onto my P800 for a while.This is for a few reasons, I only purchased it in July this year, whilst I can get the P900 delivered to me from overseas, I would prefer to physically see and hold one before I bought one, and they wont be available in Australia till late December or sometime in Jan. And thirdly there are those rumours that a P900 successor being released...hopefully with WiFi.

At least you guys don't live in a hole in the earth town that 95% of the population doesn't know what gsm is, much less wifi, or a P800. I'm sure I am the only person here that has a P800. When I worked in the cell phone shop I seen one person with a T68m, and he was from out of town. In other words I'll never have the luxury to check out in person a P900 before I'd buy it.

I bought the P900 purely for the chrome buttons, i dont intend to use it & will use a Nokia for calls,i got the P900 just to be flashed around in public places, i hate technology, but chrome buttons .....

I believe that people who bought the P800, when it arrived (me included) did so because they love having the latest, most advanced phone, so its not surprsing the same group of people are attracted to the P900, in use, its a fantastic phone, far outwaying my expectations.

My P800 still satisfies my present requirements. However, when SE comes out with something revolutionary that I find a need for, and then I will buy that phone ASAP.

I never thought it was crazy to grab a P900 from the jump... Really didn't understand the blah blah about waiting for something better. I heard the exact same murmurs when the T68i was released shortly after the T68m. If one would want revolutionary mobile phone technology then they should go to Japan. If one would want something a bit above the norm then the P900 hangs pretty well with the heavy hitters out there. I have realized most mobile owners don't know about any of the Pxxx series phones. As a matter of fact they won't remember the name 5 minutes after speaking the name to them. Usually they asume that everyone will be carrying it soon and accept the comfort of being kept in the dark. Consumers are lead to follow the market like sheep. They become slaves to what the media/marketer wants them to buy or believe is best for them. With that said they aren't any different then any one of us. We enjoy the thrill of sporting the next gadget just as the next Joe (no pun intended). Only difference is we understand when we're getting screwed/cheated of product performance and quality. On the other hand, they take it with a grin (LOL).

@Bigfeat, Got a link to these very cheap Duo's ??? did you say $56 ??

Also i must point out that using the T68m/T68i waas not a good example really, all T68m owners got the offer of the free upgrade to "i" status (in europe, not sure about US).

@BigFeat

Just out of interest are you from the US? You mention having to go to Japan for cutting edge technology with regards to mobile phones. Although not as far advanced as Japan, Europe is pretty close is some respects and compared with the US is much farther ahead with regards to mobile technology\services.
I agree with pachy that the use of the t68 example is a poor one, not only for the reasons that pachy mentioned, but also because of the quite obvious differences between the P800 and P900. The most obvious of these differences is the change in appearance, then of course there is the better screen, etc The t68m to t68i upgrade was more of a small step, compared with the brisk march from P800 to P900, which, I will grant you, isn't the giant leap that we will hopefully see in the next SE smartphone.

@scotsboyuk: I am from the US. I do agree with your points. I travel quite often to know how backwards we (US) are in cellular technology. From what I have personally experienced in Japan and the several trips I have made to the EU countries there is still a wide separation in technology that would make Europe and the US wither in its boots. Maybe my T68m to T68i analogy was week, but MMS capability was very important to some to cause them to quickly jump to the T68i at the time. Or maybe it was just important to me (LOL).

At any rate, I still think the P900 is worth it even for current P800 owners. I still have my P800 charging next to my P900 at night, but rarely do I view them as "nearly" the same phones. I can't seem to understand why most would not upgrade. It does look/feel like a different phone. I don't think most users have really maximized their P800s to see where the P900 improvements really come in handy (off paper). I'm pretty sure envy will cause a lot of P800 owners to migrate to the P900 sooner then later. Especially when all the future software start to cater only to the P900. P800s are becoming obsolete much sooner then we anticipated or willing to admit. After hearing rumors of a P900 release coming to the States before X-Mas (earlier then planned) I know things are looking really bad for the P800. If you thought most were oblivious to the presence of the P800 wait until the P900 comes around.

@Bigfeat, So did the free upgrade from T68m to T68i given to most of us not reach the US, as you seem to be saying you had to go out & buy a new T68i to get the MMS capabillty.
OH, thanks for chumbo.com but they dont ship internationally, shame your cheap local store doesn't.
