allready have the T310, T610 and the P800 myself - and though I do like the Alcatel - I like my T610 more
but as a camphone for my kid the Alcatel will do just fine and it saved me approx 200$ to get him this over the T610.
but being a gadgetfreak I allways get enamoured when getting new gadgets - even when they are not for me personally - hehe

what I don't get is why you bought another phone rather than just getting him an MCA cam? My 11 yo daughter has a T300 and my 13 yo son has a T310 and they both have MCA-25 which they love to use...

well - because I got the phone at the same price as I would have to pay for a mca25 - while at the same time getting a phone with alot better specs than the T3xx, better screen, more memory, and the cam on the alcatel is as good as the mca25 - atleast in 352x288. And i still have the T310 as backup for free.

your glowing reviews make my heart heavier. i would have gotten the phone had it not been for the dual band and the absence of BT. but i guess its good that it doesnt otherwise i wouldn have my t610
i think that that is one sleek phone, sounds like its feature rich. the only thing lacking is the BT
