I had the same thing with mine just before i sold it.
I left my battery out for an hour, switched it back on, off, on etc until finally the phone told me the system was corrupt and needed to be formatted - once that happened and the format was complete(it does it for you) everything was sweet and smelling of roses again - thankfully!
@scotsboy - you are mad! but very amusing!

it keeps saying insert correct sim after i tried to remote unlcok it from mobile fun i followed the process exactrly thank god i did it on my p800 first not my p900! i wanted to test their service now i await their customer service response to see if or not i can save the p800 and then get my p900 un lcoked if they can garuntee the problem will not re occur!
for those of you who are interested i got the follwoing error message whilst unlcoking was in process
error code 0x001221
any suggestions.
