Disable Norton or other active AV software. Disable any firewalls you may have installed.

You may then find that PC Suite installs and runs properly. I remember the first version that came with my P800 all that while ago needed this before backing up properly, and in some cases before installing in the first place. Also you may need to disable any 56k modems in Windows device manager you have when using a bluetooth connection between PC & phone. Some tend to grab the virtual ports that BT needs for the SE PC Suite.

The cradle/stand only charges the phone if the phone charger is plugged into it. Look underneath - there's a connection point for the mains charger. The green LED only indicates a connection - not charging.

If you had problems installing the PC Suite s/w I would uninstall it. Turn off any firewalls. Re-boot and then re-install. Best to use the latest version of PC Suite from the SE Support site.

Few tips.

1. Is the COM port for the USB connection, which you can check via the Poperties for PC Link, enabled using the PC Control Panel Phone Monitor? If not, then enable it.

2. When you connected the Sync Station, did it install the USB drivers? Try a different USB port and see that happens.

3. Connect the Sync Station first then dock the P900 afterwards.

The Sync Station does not charge, I thought that was explained in the manual.

Once you have made the serial connection, you should be able to run Opera and this will use your PC's net connection. No other settings needed.

Have you tried running Opera when it is in the Sync Station, when it is connected to your PC, and your PC is linked to the net? Opera will use your PC connection automatically.

@Vermania - don't have time to go through with you every possibility now, but at least ensure that in your windows network settings your 'bluetooth network' is bridged with your local area network (or other connection to the red zone [i.e. internet] if you don't use RJ45 connections to a router etc) and that the network connection piping in your net access has the 'allow other users to connect to the internet through this connection...' ticked in its' properties.

gonna give the serial connection way a go with opera never used it before well did once didnt like it will try it out and see what happens

that networking stuff seems complex i dont get it! i aint dumb quite clever with techy stuff not in to networking though i will look in to if opera wont work straight through the serial port.

EDIT

trying opera but it keeps connecting via GPRS

i have paired and connected to my pc formed a serial port connected to the internet through dial up. Open Opera v6.0 try to go to www.yahoo.com it tries to go through GPRS. Any help?

I'm having the same bluetooth issue. Basically the P900 is not 'discoverable'. My box says that it is "Made in France" also, so maybe it is a bad batch from there. I REALLY hope this can be fix with a remote firmware update. Does anyone have new information on this problem and a possible solution?

ive just had my faulty p900 replaced @ CPW. the salesman.. err leon was his name... spent over an hour on tech support trying to get them to admit that the phone was faulty.

my advice to peeps is to check bluetooth capabilities before purchasing a p900.

to guys who have the same problem... send it back now!

if it helps, the orange fault code for this particular problem on the p900 is SW150.
